Post subject: An Open Letter to the Care Taker Government and the Top Army Reply with quote

Your Excellencies at CTG and Military Brass

It is under your able leadership, you have created a tremendous good will among the desperate Bangalees in Bangladesh and around the globe for a better future of a country that we all love, revere and fight for. Let this expectation not die out in vain due to over exposure and some miscalculated steps.

You have a solemn duty ahead of you that you are entrusted with and that is to

1. clean the house and set guidelines for a corruption free society
2. create a conducive environment for free and fair elections and
3. prepare the country for rule of law under the guidance of the constitution.

Any deviation from the set path, would only brand you as many others, who have come and gone in the history as power mongers with no vision for the country.

There are four major tasks ahead of you that would remain to be the yardstick for your performance and for your rightful placement in the history. These are no easy tasks and require tremendous socio-political and communication skills.

First: Define an identity for the Bangladeshis that would unite them under a common banner in and outside the country with a common vision for the future. The identity crisis has pitted the Bangladeshis one against the other and has diminished the cumulative integrated intellectual powers of the nation. Instead of pulling the country to a common goal with their intellectual powers, they have been utilized to neutralize each other.

Second: Set the records straight once and for all, regarding the history of Bangladesh and put the respect and honor for the people who rightfully deserves it. If the history is not set straight, the departed souls of the martyrs will not rest in peace and should their greatest sacrifice be not respected, the country will keep on a limbo as has been the case so far.

Third: Create the infrastructure and set laws in place to oversee a fare and free democratic elections. To that end, you would need to create a national ID and a voter list that can be managed centrally by an independent agency away from the government. You would also require putting appropriate legislations to govern and manage the elections free of fear and domination and influence of the government officials or the political parties.

Fourth: Restructure the system of education in a way that senses of morality and righteousness can be induced among the young generation and the mass. Education should be given in a way to support the need and shortages of the nation and also to support the global businesses needs. Mass production of Master degrees has not solved the problems in the past and would not add any new value in the future. Targeted education based on the real needs is the real answer.

The momentum you have created needs to be maintained at any cost. Witch hunting will only be a waste of your valuable time and will create undue burden that the current socio-political structure would not be able to withstand.

Kind regards,

Rial
