Do I need to emphasise my point any further? Veterans of the whole HRCBM fiasco after the last election are more than acquainted with the tactics that AL is prepared to deploy in order to protect the perceived property of their leader - the country. They would drag the country through the mud to keep their hands on it.
I have to say that at this point I am LIVID that the CTG fell into what was an obvious trap.
So far governments, NGOs, advocacy groups and international institutions have given quiet support to the CTG. They have done so because like all of us, they see that this is an opportunity that MUST be taken.
But this mistake may erode that support. Commons motions, comments by the US State Dept suggest that fissures are beginning to appear. If this gathers momentum, this opportunity will be lost.
The CTG I think has underestimated the begums and forgotten that it is unscrupulous, professional liars, thugs and criminals that they're up against. Force alone will not suffice. They have to be more deliberate, more analytical and put simply, they have to be cleverer.
To my mind, a media strategy that constantly feeds into the administration at the highest level is an ESSENTIAL component for success. Recent events indicate that either this component is lacking or the administration has ignored advice.
The £100m lawsuit against BA is a farce. Everyone knows that. But it will consume airtime and column inches - slots that should be taken up with the good work of the CTG.
The CTG needs to think very, very carefully how to move the debate back to reform and away from the shenanigans of the pointless begums.
Regards
Emanur

I'm flattered that my writing appears here. But I'm disgusted that it has been posted without permission and without due credit to where it first appeared : Alochona. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alochona.
Poor practice and one that will not help you survive in the long run.
